Apprenticeship Fees Guidance

The following information has been issued as fee guidance.

Tuition

The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC) issues policy on tuition and fee rates annually, and these can be accessed on the SBCTC website under "Tuition and Fees".

For apprenticeship courses, apprenticeship students are eligible for a fifty percent waiver on the standard tuition (operating and building fees) and services and activities (S&A) fees.  (See WAC 131-28-026 4b)

Contract rates

SBCTC has established a maximum value for use by colleges contracting with apprenticeship training sponsors for instruction. This rate provides a consistent value for the community and technical college system, but it is provided as a courtesy and is not binding.

The maximum value for the 2023-25 biennium (July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2025) is $3,540. This rate already includes any potential negotiated rent. The value is established on a biennial basis, utilizing the state operating allocations from the prior biennium.
