If the system’s operating budget request of $72 million is fully funded, Shoreline Community College would receive approximately $2.5 million in additional funding.
If the system's request is fully funded, Shoreline Community College will receive approximately $5,128,400 for operation, maintenance, infrastructure, repairs and minor improvements of its existing facilities, $39,692,000 for construction of the STE(A)M Education Center, and $33,687,000 for design and construction of the Comprehensive Student Services Center.

Founded in 1964, Shoreline Community College offers more than 100 rigorous academic and professional-technical degrees and certificates to meet the lifelong learning needs of its diverse students and communities. Dedicated faculty and staff are committed to the educational success of its over 8,000 students who hail from across the United States and over 50 countries. Located 10 miles north of downtown Seattle, Shoreline’s campus is one of the most strikingly beautiful college campuses in the state. The grounds once served as a special place to the Coastal Salish and Duwamish people for gathering traditional foods in ways that increased the bounty of the land.
Meet Julio Gonzalez
Julio Gonzalez is pursuing an associate degree in advanced manufacturing at Shoreline Community College and holds a 4.0 GPA. Upon graduation, he intends to use the skills he’s learned in the program to meet his childhood dream and career goals of opening and running his own machine shop. In addition to working toward a career he enjoys, Gonzalez hopes to make a difference by bringing practical solutions to problems people encounter in their everyday lives.
Legislative Priority: Expand Opportunity for Students and Employers
Fully funding our budget requests will have real returns for students like Julio Gonzalez and for the communities and employers in our area. Students will learn from competitively-paid experts who choose to work at Shoreline Community College rather than pursue higher paying positions with private employers or K-12 schools. Our students will train for careers in robust workforce programs, with modern equipment and learning spaces that mirror their future work environments. We will be able to expand technology to bring a college education to more people in more ways, which is especially important for working adults. And, all our students will benefit from an inclusive environment where they are valued, supported and equipped to reach their goals.
Shoreline Community College will also receive funding to operate and maintain existing facilities, build its STE(A)M Education Center, and design and build its Comprehensive Student Services Center.
