If the system’s operating budget request of $353 million is fully funded, the Pierce College District will receive approximately $7.7 million in additional funding.
If the system’s request is fully funded, the Pierce College District will receive approximately $7,197,600 for operation, maintenance, infrastructure, repairs and minor improvements of its existing facilities.

Pierce College Puyallup is part of the Pierce College District, a community college district serving more than 14,000 students annually. Founded in 1967, the college now offers 26 associate degrees, 52 professional certificates and six applied bachelor’s degrees designed to prepare students for academic transfer and career success.
By offering affordable and accessible programs, Pierce College Puyallup helps people of every age and background to learn and thrive in today’s economy. Whether students are 16 or 60, just out of high school or working adults, our college prepares them for the next step up in life. As a community college that serves a large number of lower-income students and students of color, our college is key to creating a stronger and more inclusive economy.
Meet Haley Ness
Haley Ness grew up in a home where instability was common. As Haley became an adult and raised children of her own, she never lost her vision for a better future, despite experiencing abusive relationships, homelessness, drug addiction and health issues. She cleaned up her life and focused on education. Haley persisted through challenging times even while at Pierce, where her professors listened and supported her.
The needs of our students are great, but with strong faculty and staff support, students like Haley will continue to transform their lives through higher education.
Legislative Priority: Expand Opportunity for Students and Employers
Fully funding our budget requests will have real returns for students like Haley Ness and for the communities and employers in our area. Students will learn from competitively-paid experts who choose to work at Pierce College rather than pursue higher paying positions with private employers or K-12 schools. Our students will train for careers in robust workforce programs, with modern equipment and learning spaces that mirror their future work environments. We will be able to expand technology to bring a college education to more people in more ways, which is especially important for working adults. And, all our students will benefit from an inclusive environment where they are valued, supported and equipped to reach their goals. Pierce College Puyallup will also receive funding to operate and maintain existing facilities.
