If the system’s request is fully funded, Clover Park Technical College will receive approximately $8,339,600 for operation, maintenance, infrastructure, repairs and minor improvements of its existing facilities, and $46,703,000 for design and construction of the Center for Innovative Teaching and Community Connections.

Clover Park Technical College offers 42 programs with over 120 degree or certificate options arranged into seven career pathways: advanced manufacturing; aerospace and aviation; automotive and trades; business and personal services; health and human development; nursing; and science, technology, engineering, and design. With campuses in Lakewood and South Hill, we offer online, hybrid, and on-campus courses for students starting their first career, taking their next step in a career, or finding a new career. Our affordable and accessible programs help people of every age and background, from new high school graduates to seasoned employees, gain new skills and fully participate in our workforce. As a technical college that serves Washingtonians hardest hit by strained economic conditions, we are key to creating stronger and more inclusive opportunities.
Meet Edward Barnes
Edward Barnes chose Clover Park Technical College after a 16-year career in law enforcement. He attributes his success to the attentive, wrap-around services offered by CPTC’s many departments. Entry Services’ helpful staff and Student Life’s orientation set the tone, Workforce Development’s assistance navigating unemployment resources kept him on course, and the IT Help Desk showed him how to be a reliable, confident employee. With his associate degree in Network Operations and System Security in-hand, Barnes is now pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Science at CPTC so he can guide others through daunting computer challenges to successful usage.
Legislative Priority: Expand Opportunity for Students and Employers
Fully funding our budget requests will have real returns for students like Edward Barnes and for the communities and employers in our area. Students will learn from competitively-paid experts who choose to work at Clover Park Technical College rather than pursue higher paying positions with private employers or K-12 schools. Our students will train for careers in robust workforce programs, with modern equipment and learning spaces that mirror their future work environments. We will be able to expand technology to bring a college education to more people in more ways, which is especially important for working adults. And, all our students will benefit from an inclusive environment where they are valued, supported and equipped to reach their goals.
