If the system’s operating budget request of $353 million is fully funded, Centralia College would receive approximately $3.0 million in additional funding.
If the system’s request is fully funded, Centralia College will receive approximately $3,472,000 for operation, maintenance, infrastructure, repairs and minor improvements of its existing facilities, and $10,501,000 in state funds and $1,000,000 in local funds for construction of the Teacher Education and Family Development Center.

Centralia College has been serving students in Lewis and south Thurston counties since 1925. As a comprehensive community college, Centralia College offers a wide variety of academic transfer and career training programs, as well as transitional education and early childhood programs. The college also offers five Bachelor of Applied Science degrees: Behavioral Healthcare, Information Technology–Application Development, Diesel Technology, Applied Management (business) and Teacher Education (K-8).
Meet Jordan Neal
When Jordan Neal dropped out of high school in his senior year due to failing grades, he never imagined that years later he’d graduate from Centralia College with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Jordan credits his wife for encouraging him to go back to school as an adult and pursue his associate degree in Information Technology. Jordan, who was selected to represent Centralia College on the 2022 All-Washington Academic Team, is the first in his family to graduate from college.
Legislative Priority: Expand Opportunity for Students and Employers
Fully funding our budget requests will have real returns for students like Jordan Neal and for the communities and employers in our area. Students will learn from competitively-paid experts who choose to work at Centralia College rather than pursue higher paying positions with private employers or K-12 schools. Our students will train for careers in robust workforce programs, with modern equipment and learning spaces that mirror their future work environments. We will be able to expand technology to bring a college education to more people in more ways, which is especially important for working adults. And, all our students will benefit from an inclusive environment where they are valued, supported and equipped to reach their goals.
Centralia College will also receive funding to operate and maintain existing facilities and to build its Teacher Education and Family Development Center.
