Yakima Valley College receives funding to train Yakama Forest Products workers
Yakima Valley College has received a $90,012 Job Skills Program grant from the Washington State Board of Community and Technical Colleges in order to improve employee skills in the community. The funding is focused toward
improving industry-specific skills for Yakama Forest Products, according to a press

‘Soul of an Octopus’ author is PC’s Writer in Residence
Peninsula College Writer in Residence for Spring 2023 is Sy Montgomery, an adventure writer and naturalist.
Montgomery has written more than 30 books for adults and children and was a 2015 finalist
for the National Book Award for nonfiction with her New York Times bestseller, “The
Soul of an Octopus — A Surprising Exploration Into the Wonder of Consciousness.”

Lower Columbia College plans for $42M trade skill building
Lower Columbia College is moving forward on its efforts to build a $42 million, multistory vocational skill
center in the heart of its Longview campus. LCC President Chris Bailey said the idea
