The Equity, Diversity and Inclusion department conducted information sessions in January 2022 to provide guidance and support for the implementation of Senate Bills 5227 and 5194. We welcome Summer Kenesson, SBCTC Interim Research Director, as well as our system colleagues from Cascadia College, South Puget Sound Community College, Clark College and Yakima Valley College.

Faculty Diversity Program
We invite you to join us in our college showcase highlighting the diverse faculty hiring practices in our colleges, as an extension of our information sessions. We welcome colleagues from Highline College, Pierce College Fort Steilacoom, and Spokane Falls Community College to share their work for recruiting and retaining faculty from all racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds. These presentations have also been recorded and captioned for those that were unable to attend.

DEI Strategic Plans
Please join us for information on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Strategic Plans, a crucial component in advancing racial equity in our colleges and a key deliverable in SB 5194. We will hear from three system colleagues about the development of their DEI Strategic Plans and will be joined by our SBCTC colleagues Lynn Palmanteer-Holder, Director of Tribal Relations and Curriculum Development, and Monica Wilson, Director of Student Success Center and Strategic Initiatives, and Dr. Claudine Richardson, Policy Associate for Student Success Center.
